Abertay Dundee University - Student View
Relatively small (approximately 5000 students), but expanding rapidly. University is extremely focused on the student experience and finding new ways to enhance student life.
Dedicated student services provide financial, emotional and educational support; also SCOPE office helps students find part-time jobs, and careers service helps them decide their future paths.
Wide variety of courses to suit industry demands: examples include degrees in business studies, forensic sciences, natural resources management and computer games technology. Highlights include the library and new student centre.
Plenty of accommodation around Dundee (prices vary); good university accommodation office and plenty of letting agents.
Student Centre has pool tables, game machines, food, dedicated club, cinema/performance and exhibition spaces and two excellent bars. UADSA supports range of clubs and societies, from highly successful Gaelic football teams to football, hockey, rugby and many more, as well as non-sporting societies, eg LIARS (law society), and Roc Soc.
Dundee recently voted second best city for students; small city and very safe.
