Ulster University - Student View

It's on 4 campuses, 2 in and around Belfast, one on the north coast and one in Londonderry. Jordanstown campus, 7 miles north of Belfast, is the largest campus and has good facilities.

Business management, science, technology and engineering are major courses. Very high proportion of part-time students; good reputation with industry.

Attractive student village. Campus well integrated, with students from Europe, North America and Far East. Belfast campus has all the advantages of the city's wide-ranging services. Students work in bright, airy buildings of ex-art college (art and design subjects dominant - some 20% of students on Foundation programmes). Atmosphere relaxed, facilities adequate.

Coleraine, on the north coast, houses humanities and university headquarters. 60s campus, close to two of N Ireland's main holiday resorts, Portstewart and Portrush - much favoured by students for accommodation outside the summer months.

Cosmopolitan atmosphere; facilities are excellent and a high reputation in sports. All major faculties present at Coleraine. Academic courses strongly favour continuous assessment. Magee campus in Derry recently transformed. New buildings surround the 19th-century college, and more planned. Been a major success in attracting mature students to Foundation, degree and postgraduate courses. The student's union has strong links with the Student Housing Association Co-operative.
