Housing: Unipol housing association runs a watchdog for finding accommodation.
Drink: SU bar is cheaper than pubs (£1.75 a pint) with regular happy hours. Skyrack, Taps and The Arc, all popular pubs.
Eats: Cheap food in the SU; meal for £2.50-£3 on campus. Many shops and restaurants nearby; Citrus and Dare are popular (main course £5-£8).
Nightlife: Best-known nights at the Met Bar are Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with gigs throughout the week. Bars in halls also have regular organised nights (karaoke, quizzes). Great acts at the Met are Stereophonics, Travis, Toploader, Coldplay, The Darkness, Girls Aloud and Rahzel.
Locals: OK if you are friendly to them. Chapeltown and Little London both a bit dodgy.
Sports: Some of the best facilities in Yorkshire including tennis centre, swimming pool, athletics track, astroturf and grass pitches.
Travel: Good road/rail links; airport only 7 miles away.
Jobs: University Jobshop; jobs in SU and loads of local call centre work.
Best feature: Fantastic social atmosphere; great sports facilities and teams, wide variety of courses.
And worst: Split sites and limited parking.
