Housing: Halls for most first years. Accreditation scheme for private housing (plenty available).

Eats: Wide selection in SU, from salad bar to pizzas, tex mex to jacket potatoes (something for carnivores and vegetarians).

Drink: 3 SU bars at City and one at Coach Lane; regular promotional deals. Nearby cheap bars eg Luckies, Bar Oz, and the Hancock. Local drink is Newcastle Brown Ale!

Nightlife: 3 SU club nights, pub quiz, karaoke, and comedy evenings. Best live gig venue in the north-east, attracting top bands such as Fat Boy Slim, Peter Andre and Franz Ferdinand. Student orientated city clubs eg Ikon, Sea, Powerhouse.

Sports: Wide variety of sports clubs, Sport Northumbria gym and Gateshead Stadium.

Travel: Termly saver cards available for bus and metro.

Financial help: Access to learning funds is available.

Jobs: SU runs Jobshop, with tons of term and vacation jobs.

Best features: Party atmosphere; the students.

And worst: Dodgy architecture. the wind off the Tyne!
