Surrey Institute - Student View

Two campuses, in Farnham and Epsom, both relatively central to the town centres. Farnham is a small market town and has a good choice of pubs, restaurants and wine bars - as does the leafy town of Epsom (home of the famous racecourse).

London is easily accessible by train; Epsom 30 minutes, Farnham 50 minutes. Both towns have sports centres and offer good discounts to students.

Well-stocked specialist libraries at both sites, and resource centres with good computer access. It's a specialist art, design and media college with a good reputation. Many students have won acclaimed prizes and awards both internationally and nationally.

Design faculty has a good reputation and offers one of the few degree courses for the study of glass, plus others in design management and packaging. The arts and media faculty offers degree courses in most modern technologies. The majority of degrees are 100% coursework, so although the workload is constant there isn't the pressure of end-of-year exams. Relatively easy to change course in first term, so long as there is space.

Both campuses have bars and offer a wide range of clubs and societies.
