University College - Student View
In the High street, Univ is a very friendly and cosmopolitan college. Despite holding a consistently high position in Oxford's academic league table, it has a very vibrant social life.
College bar is the central venue; college music society is ambitious and active (one or two big productions each year). Sports teams successful - most people find themselves representing the college for some team - with high profile men's and women's teams in rowing, football, hockey and rugby. JCR is apolitical and manages to avoid factiousness; committed to improving the living and working environment of the college.
The college prides itself on being tolerant in every respect, encouraging diversity and commitment. And then there's JCR tea each afternoon and legendary sweaty bops twice a term, followed up by free soup. There's even a karaoke machine. You couldn't ask for anything more.
