Founded: 1555; women undergraduates first admitted 1979.
Admissions: Undergraduates not admitted for geology, metallurgy. Scholarships: Awards offered on examination results annually; organ and choral scholarships annually. Special funds for visually impaired undergraduates.
Study abroad: Formal exchange links in Munich, Geneva and Pisa - open to all undergraduates.
Special grants: Book grants; music awards. Library & information services: 39,000 older books, and working library of 33,000 volumes, many rare books and manuscripts. 4 computer rooms: 2 public, 1 for undergraduates, 1 graduates. 250+ networked student rooms. Access to IT facilities 24 hours/day; 2 full-time staff give IT support 8 hours/weekdays.
Eating arrangements: Breakfast, lunch and early dinner self-service in hall, semi-formal dinner. Snacks available from college bar. Gate/guest hours: Late keys issued.
Other college facilities: Sports ground a mile from the college, tennis court, pavilion; boathouse in Christ Church Meadow.
Accommodation: All undergraduates in college accommodation (some Jacobean, some Victorian. some modern), approx £2000 a year. No first degree students live at home.
Term-time work: College may allow some term-time work. Work in college for postgraduates only.
Financial help: Some funding available for hardship grants and loans and for academic purposes; one Oxford Student Scholarship assigned before the start of the course, full academic and maintenance fees for overseas students.
