Founded: 1886; men undergraduates first admitted 1987.
Admission: College welcomes applications from all kinds of school and background. Undergraduates not admitted for classical archaeology & ancient history; material science; materials, economics & management, geography; geology; fine art; philosophy or theology.
Scholarships: Up to 26 scholarships (£200 plus free vacation lodgings) and exhibitions awarded annually; various essay prizes; organ scholarship and instrumental award.
Travel grants: Limited amount of money available for students attending required courses.
Library & information services: Main library plus law and science reading rooms. Separate IT services, access 24 hours/days: 8 points with access to libraries; all college study rooms have internet access (approx 500). IT support from full-time member of staff. Library tours for individual subjects, courses on computing and library databases available on demand.
Gate/guest hours: All undergraduates have keys. Visitors out by 2 am. Overnight guests at weekend by arrangement. Other college facilities: JCR bar, bar billiards, tennis, croquet, rowing, large and pleasant garden, computer.
Accommodation: All undergraduates offered study bedroom throughout their degree (40% of rooms ensuite, all with internet access); rent £2150 pa including maintenance charge. No first degree students live at home.
Term-time work: College does not allow term-time work. Some holiday work available in college.
