St Edmund Hall - Student View

Teddy Hall, as it is affectionately known, is one of Oxford's friendliest colleges. There is a strong and loyal hall spirit, but this is not claustrophobic, and the small size of the college gives it an intimate and friendly atmosphere.

Students are active both at college and university levels: teams excel in sports (especially women's teams) and there are also excellent music, drama and journalism traditions. JCR meetings very well-attended and remarkably free of party-political biases but with a strong reputation for student activism and radicalism.

Teddy Hall ents are renowned and frequently draw students from other colleges. There is a growing LGB community.

In the centre of Oxford, near shops, libraries and sports pitches, the college is a blend of old and new - the front quad is picturesque and medieval, and the library is in an 11th-century Norman church. The more modern back quad is visually less impressive but better equipped (washing facilities, kitchens etc).
