Founded: 1878; men undergraduates first admitted 1979.
Admission: College has tutorial fellows in all the main subjects. Largest fields of study: English, history, mathematics, medicine, modern languages, PPE.
Scholarships: Scholarships and exhibitions awarded for good academic work and success in examinations.
Travel grants: Generous funds available to undergraduates during their course.
Library & information services: Large library; 110,000 books and many special collections. College IT service - ratio 1:15 workstations to students, access 24 hours/day, points with access to internet and all local libraries in all college rooms. Full-time computing officer.
Eating arrangements: All meals available in hall but not compulsory. Self-catering facilities in college houses.
Gate/guest hours: No gate hours. Guests may stay overnight if signed in.
Other college facilities: Extensive computer systems; subsidised computer purchase scheme. Sports facilities shared with St John's; boathouse on river.
Accommodation: Provided for almost all students throughout their course. 430 rooms available at £2748 per term (including £357 towards meals).
Term-time work: Discouraged but available in college in bar and library.
Financial help: Funds available for individual cases of hardship.
