Regent's Park - Student View
It has a small but attractive quadrangle, framed on three sides by 20th century neo-classical buildings and, on the fourth, by houses from the 18th century and earlier (including the oldest inhabited house in Oxford); it is close to the city centre.
Undergraduates can live in college-owned accommodation for at least 2 years, mainly in single study bedrooms but also some flats on the main college site.
Although small, it is an active college. Its students are involved in many clubs and societies inside and outside college. One or two social events (at least) a week, ranging from cinema trips, discos to Sunday afternoon tea.
Sports clubs are enthusiastically supported (particularly rowing, football, netball, cricket) and very successful.
A friendly college with good JCR/SCR relations. Students have a large input in the running of college; their views are listened to and well respected.
College traditions based in theology and the Baptist Ministry (10-12 a year enter training for the Ministry at the college); strong support is provided for the Christian community within college and opportunities to question and grow in faith encouraged. However, these views are not at all imposed.
Good food provided throughout the week, with a formal hall on Friday evenings. Self-catering allowed at weekends from well-equipped kitchens.
