Founded: 1341; women undergraduates first admitted 1979.

Admission: Undergraduates not admitted for archaeology & anthropology, classical archaeology & ancient history, computer science, earth sciences, geography, human sciences, theology, fine art, modern history & english (but other joint schools involving english welcome).

Scholarships: Various scholarships and exhibitions offered to students on any course for distinguished work; college bursaries for excellence in non-academic activities (sports etc); choral, organ or instrumental awards offered for distinguished performance (not restricted to students reading music).

Travel grants: Some available.

Library & information services: Over 140,000 volumes, including good coverage of all undergraduate subjects. College IT and library services converged. Ratio 1:20 workstations to students. 7 points with access to libraries, 30 to internet. IT facilities open 24 hours/day: 2 IT officers give support; weekly IT workshop.

Eating arrangements: Breakfast available in hall, Florey Building and Iffley Road building; lunch and dinner in hall. Meals charged at cost.

Gate/guest hours: Undergraduates can have their own keys.

Other college facilities: Chapel with superb modern pipe organ and concert piano; convenient sports field; boathouse with several good eights; tennis courts; squash courts; beer cellar.

Accommodation: All students in college accommodation. Rooms at £628.35 per term plus food at cost. No first degree students live at home.

Term-time work: College does not allow term-time work.
