Almost all students live in for 3 years; rooms are varied in shape and size but good basic standard with plenty of kitchens (legacy from its days as a women's college) and ensuite bathrooms in several rooms.

Tolerant atmosphere with good state/private school balance, an anti-discrimination statute and amiable tutor-student relations.

Its distance (10 minutes' walk) from the town centre isn't a problem to socialising and working there; instead LMH benefits from a strong college spirit, spacious feel and good on-site facilities.

Its absence from the tourist trail in the summer is a virtue never to be underestimated.
