Founded: 1870; women undergraduates first admitted 1979.

Admission: Conditional offer or on basis of grades achieved plus interview. International and other alternative qualifications welcomed. Undergraduates not usually admitted for biochemistry; earth sciences; european & middle eastern languages; experimental psychology; fine art; human sciences; materials, economics & management; metallurgy & science of materials; oriental studies; classics & oriental studies (joint); PPP; joint school of physics & philosophy.

Scholarships: Awards given for meritorious work during undergraduate course. Organ and choral awards; award of course fees and maintenance to one third-world scholar at any time.

Study abroad: Exchange links arranged in some faculties.

Travel grants: A number of study and travel grants are provided by Keble Association. Academic prizes and competitive bursaries (£100-£2500) for worthwhile vacation projects involving travel, 20 benefit.

Library & information services: Over 40,000 books, 24-hour opening; some textbooks available on lease basis. College IT and library services largely converged. Ratio 1:20 workstations to students; approx 30 computers with access to library and internet. Approx 50% of students have their own computers; ethernet points in all college rooms. Access to IT facilities 24 hours/day; IT support from 2 full-time staff.

Eating arrangements: Keble Hall (the longest in Oxford) accommodates everyone in one sitting. Breakfast, lunch and Sunday brunch, self-service; dinners, waitered service.

Gate/guest hours: Wicket gate keys available for all students.

Other college facilities: JCR, bar, music room (grand piano and harpsichord), sports ground, boathouse, laundry, squash courts, weights room, computer rooms.

Accommodation: 80% of undergraduates in college accommodation, usually all 1st and 2nd years and most finalists; rents from £1850-£2070 pa. Small proportion of students choose to live in privately owned accommodation, rents £3000 pa for self-catering. No first degree students live at home.

Term-time work: College does not allow term-time work. Financial help: £2500-£3500 own funds, approx 15 students helped. Special help: those hit by unexpected hardship while on course; organ and choral scholars.
