Nottingham University - Student View

One of the first things people notice is its beautiful campus. University Park is the focus of life for most students, and the majority live here for their first year. It's a short bus ride from the city centre - and Nottingham has one of the best transport networks in the country, so everywhere is accessible.

A number of remote sites: Sutton Bonington, 8 miles south, is the centre for agriculture, biosciences and food science; Jubilee Campus, about 20 minutes' walk from main campus, has the schools of business, computing, education and IT and housing for about 750 students. Regular shuttle buses connect all three campuses.

Students' Union is very active on behalf of its members, and provides a whole host of services and activities. Services include the students' advice centre, print shop, CD and record library, retail outlets and travel centre. There's a student-run magazine and radio station as well as a theatre and cinema. Over 70 sports clubs, coupled with excellent sporting facilities, and whatever your level you can get involved. Also 140+ societies, from science fiction to Blade Soc (rollerblading), there is something for everyone. If the society doesn't exist you can start your own.

Students are attracted by the university's reputation and location, from all over the UK as well as over a hundred other countries, creating a diverse and cosmopolitan environment. A wide range of well-respected courses and graduates are held in high regard by employers.

Nottingham is a vibrant city, with huge numbers of bars, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There are a number of cinemas, theatres, a bowling alley and an ice arena - entertainment to suit all tastes and budgets.
