The student population is a mix of ages, races and backgrounds with friendly staff offering a host of support networks to students. Accommodation, library resources and 24-hour access to IT services on both campuses.

SU also on both campuses, offers food, drink, shop facilities and the offices of sabbatical officers, who provide support and representation for all students.

SU entertainments programme is wide, varied and open to student input; also exclusive student nights in town clubs (Time & Envy on Monday, Chicago Rock on Wednesday).

Jobs in SU bar and security; student services (on both campuses) hold job fairs and have weekly local job lists. They also provide support funds for students facing financial difficulties.
