Edge Hill - Student View

Campus with attractive buildings, ranging from 1930s to modern smoked glass and steel, 45 acres of playing fields and beautiful gardens. A very relaxing and attractive place to study, just outside Ormskirk (a small ancient market town).

Within easy reach of Southport (7 miles) and Liverpool (15 miles). Both provide excellent nightlife (clubs, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, etc) and good shopping facilities. Ormskirk has a cheap and popular market (Thursdays and Saturdays) and small indoor market.

Campus life very easy-going. Students generally settle in very quickly and drop-out rate is low. College rooms are comfortable, warm and generally well-furnished. Meals in refectory; cooking facilities available in halls.

SU finances societies and provides welfare, academic and general support.

Societies very active, especially the athletic union, drama, Christian Union, rock, film, media. Active community work scheme and childcare facility on campus. Students generally happy with courses. Nearly 40% on QTS courses. Good staff/student relations - each student allocated a personal tutor.
