Kent Institute Canterbury Campus - Student View
Canterbury is a great place to study; not large but has the highest student to resident ratio in Europe. Beautiful, historic city; great cathedral; lively pubs and bars and lots to do.
KIAD geared to provide a creative environment in which students' energy and passion for their subject is given free range. Much rebuilding providing new facilities eg lecture theatre, studios, gallery, canteen and bar.
Strong Student Association (president is based at Canterbury) organises great entertainments, sports, activities, welfare etc. Regular live bands and DJs in bar, also theme nights and fun fun times; most musical tastes accommodated. Hundreds of pubs in Canterbury.
All accommodation close to campus; halls have good ensuite facilities, communal kitchens and dining rooms. Student services can help find private accommodation in your second year, mostly in rented houses.
Many students have part-time jobs (but get there quick; jobs go fast). Students and staff get along well; all courses elect representatives who meet in a well-organised student/staff forum to sort out any problems with courses.
