Founded: 1965 a a graduate school; newly-formed following the merger between Manchester University and UMIST.
Structural features: A new school merging MBS, with Manchester University's School of Accounting & Finance and UMIST School of Management.

How to get there: Manchester well-connected by coach and rail (to Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria stations; 2 hrs 40 mins from London), by road (M6/M56, M61, M62, M67), and by air to Manchester International Airport (10 miles south of city centre). Regular bus service from most parts of the city.
Academic features: MBA course combines international management theory and practice leading in the later stage to consultancy-type projects within organisations. Doctoral programme involves up to one year of taught courses followed by a research project leading to the thesis. Also taught Masters' programmes.
