Housing: Students share cheap houses; look in Loot.

Eats: Meal for £2.50 on campus. Also Pizza Castello (pricey), Tai Won Mein (very cheap).

Drink: SU is cheapest and most fun (£1.80-ish a pint); also Bar Room Bar, Bedlam, JD Wetherspoons.

Nightlife: Isobar, Ministry of Sound, West End.

Locals: Some not too friendly; some local pubs no-go areas for students.

Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £10,000 (in uni accommodation), £8000 (in private accommodation).

Hardship fund: Some funds can be arranged by SU.

Jobs: Part-time jobs in SU bars, university catering, shops and ents; lots of work locally (up to £8/hour). Great jobshop.

Best features: Location; teaching staff.

And worst: Location; library.
