Housing: Deptford area relatively cheap; accommodation list available; SU can help.

Eats: Good cafe on site; good variety of reasonably priced eateries nearby.

Drink: Goldsmiths SU bar fairly close, many local pubs; others in Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding boroughs.

Nightlife: Goldsmiths SU very active with regular club, comedy and film nights. Dance companies visiting regularly. Choice of local cinemas. The Venue (for bands) and The Fridge. Brixton - as with most of London, be aware of personal safety.

Locals: Large student community that tends not to mix with locals.

Sports: Local leisure centres, swimming pools etc.

Travel: Several bus routes, train (Greenwich or Deptford). Lisa Ullmann fund provides opportunity for dance students to travel abroad.

Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £6000.

Financial help: College loans fund (small amounts and not for long). Jobs: Local work in pubs, restaurants and supermarkets (if you can find time!).

Best features: The chance to train professionally in a renowned, relaxed environment.

And worst: Long hours.
