Goldsmiths College - Student View

Famous for its drama, music, visual arts, communications and sociology. It's located in the heart of south east London, near Greenwich, Blackheath, and Lewisham and with easy access to the centre of town by train and bus.

Student population very diverse and interesting; large numbers of female, mature, ethnic and international students. Nearly all first years guaranteed a place in halls but the facilities available depend on the hall.

SU is very active; has an inclusive and welcoming environment and an equal opportunities policy. Many active clubs and societies including the LGB, athletics, African diaspora, stage & musical, student assembly against racism, and Asian cultural, to name just a few. SU also funds an autonomous student newspaper, Smiths, which comes out monthly with a variety of news, music and arts features. SU entertainments try to cater for most of the students: comedy, quiz, live music and club nights ranging from cheesy 70s and 80s to drum and bass. And if that isn't enough, there are plenty more things to do and places to go in the city centre.

A good place to study for city lovers wanting a university that is fun, stimulating, eventful and a refreshing change.
