Housing: 3 main sites, all close. Off-campus, look in Loot, estate agents, uni accommodation office.
Eats: Mexican style in SU and university refectory; meal for £2+ in union, £3.50+ in refectory. Good range on Upper Street. The Quiet Revolution in Old Street (£4).
Drink: 2 SU bars on site (pint £1.50+) and Finsbury Halls bar (Hall Bar One) is cheap; close to Islington's busy Upper Street with many restaurants/bars.
Nightlife: Professionally run ents on site and in local clubs. Good prices with further discounts for card holders. London at your feet!
Locals: Sometimes difficult locally but becoming increasingly wealthy as City boys and designers move into new loft-style developments.
Sports: Sports centre with weight gym, aerobics, step boxercise classes. Over 50 SU clubs & societies.
Travel: All university sites within walking distance. Tubes and buses run good local service, but at central London price.
Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £5800 (in uni accommodation), £6500 (in private accommodation).
Financial help: Some available, also SU has 'funder finder' to help find sponsorship & trust donations.
Jobs: Many available in SU, catering, bars, shop, admin etc all with full training.
Best features: Location; good mix of students; union.
And worst: Increasing cost of local private sector rents.
