Westminster University - Student View

It has four campuses: three in the West End and the largest one at Harrow. Each contains several schools from bioscience to business and behavioural science to design and media. The vocational approach and support of an outstanding careers service ensures a high proportion of graduates finding decent jobs.

London is expensive but part-time jobs are easy to come by (most students find one). First years from outside the capital get priority in halls, everyone else has to pick up a flat or house share. Harrow students live around the campus; West End students live as close as they can (often Kilburn or Brixton), though the rents are higher, of course.

Very diverse student body: lot of part-time and mature students as well as large number of international students. Changing course in first term is relatively easy and uncomplicated.

All interests catered for in the various union societies. Students' Union (UWSU) provides bars, shops and events; also support and representation through the welfare and education department and an award-winning free fortnightly magazine, The Smoke.

High level of competitive sport through the athletic union - but also sport at all levels. Life in London can be hard but it can also be a lot of fun for not too much cash.

Union's main objective is to ensure all students have a good time and there is someone there to pick them up it they fall down (even in the bar!).
