Drink: Students' Association bar (home from home), is place to relax and have fun (pint £1.80).

Nightlife: Many local haunts for RCM students locally; West End just around the corner.

Sports: Football team. Imperial College sports centre open to RCM students.

Financial help: Scholarships available; hardship funds. Some RCM Society interest-free loans to buy instruments. Welfare office gives advice.

Jobs: External engagements and teaching through Woodhouse Centre.

Best features: Good sense of community.

And worst: Hectic; big working culture.
