Housing: 8 halls of residence, self-catering apartments, houses and intercollegiate halls. Private accommodation is expensive (always 12-month contracts), and so is the travel involved.
Eats: Quad Cafe (range of budget eats, including tasty paninis), Brunch Bowl (cheap hot meals and other foods).
Drink: Inexpensive SU bars, the Tuns, the Quad and the Underground. Also halls bars.
Nightlife: LSESU's infamous Crush every Friday. Chuckle Club for great comics every Saturday.
Sports: Fully equipped gym, weights, squash and badminton courts on site. Sports grounds in Surrey. ULU's swimming pool and facilities near by.
Travel: STA branch on campus. Safe transport to all halls on Friday nights.
Student support: SU advice and counselling centre.
Financial help: Where something unexpected comes up, LSE good at providing funds. Extensive scholarships, access funds etc; SU administered specialist funds.
Jobs: Some casual work in school and SU; whole of London casual market is within easy reach.
Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £8500 (in school accommodation), £10,000 (in private accommodation).
