Right next to the tube in South Kensington, it's a mixture of old and new, surrounded by museums and the Albert Hall; also various other medical sites (eg St Mary's Paddington, Charing Cross & Westminster hospital) and agriculture in Ashford.
Well known for clubs and societies - 248 of them - including most religions and nationalities, theatre productions and own cinema (3rd largest independent screen in London); several sports clubs are UK leaders. College owns 3 sports fields, a sports centre, tennis courts, several gyms and swimming pools.
All freshers get a place in hall, either IC or London University inter-collegiate hall. Good variety of accommodation available and halls are safe, friendly places. Really cosmopolitan: third of students originate outside the UK. Work is tough but drop-out rate is low and there is a strong support network.
Graduates paid above the average graduate salary and increase their salaries faster and higher. Humanities programme, covering the arts and languages, to broaden education. Some courses include years abroad or in industry.
Still people find time for part-time work, many within the union, which is a safe and friendly environment; a job shop helps with ideas. If the money is really tight, union adviser can help find money from hardship funds etc.
Union (ICU) is biggest student venue in central London. Events throughout the year including comedy nights, music, live bands and bar nights. Minibus service, so you don't have to go home on your own. 6 sabbatical and whole host of student officers to help you. ICU handbook is a guide to all the activities and life in London. Anyone can fit in at IC and plenty of union support.
