Housing: Uni accommodation reasonable. Private houses, around £37 pw (look in agencies, accommodation office, student media).

Eats: On campus meal for £1-£3. Mimosa, Hitchcocks, Mexican are popular local restaurants.

Drink: SU bars - very cheap (£1.50 a pint on average). Schnapps bar in town, the Minerva (at the marina) brews own beer.

Nightlife: SU nightclub, Asylum, features most genres of music; gay nights (Poptastic). R'n'B, cheese, rock and live acts eg The Thrills. Student nights in city clubs; bars, cinemas, theatres, etc.

Locals: Some friendly, some not.

Sports: Fantastic facilities, thriving athletic union, new KC stadium.

Travel: Travel shop in SU. Some funding.

Financial help: Some available through uni and union (advice given).

Jobs: Job exchange in SU, plenty of opportunities.

Best features: Friendly community feeling on campus and excellent students union.

And worst: False image of Hull.
