Founded: 2002.
Structural features: A partnership between universities of Exeter and Plymouth and the NHS in Devon and Cornwall.
Site: Exeter or Plymouth universities (Years 1-2); acute hospitals in Exeter, Plymouth and Truro (Years 3-4); centres across the region (Year 5).
Academic features: Integration of academic and clinical aspects of course throughout. Years 1-2 delivered through problem-based learning (PBL).
Special features: Research into eg diabetes, clinical microvascular research, cannabinoids in multiple sclerosis.
Awarding body: Joint award by Exeter and Plymouth universities.
Main undergraduate awards: BM BS.
Length of courses: 5 years.
Library & information services: Libraries and IT resources of both universities (see separate descriptions) and of the NHS. IT/multimedia a major tool in learning.

Accommodation: All first years are offered accommodation owned or approved by the universities; for details see Exeter University and Plymouth University. Years 2-5, either privately rented, university or hospital accommodation.

Tuition fees: Home students up to £1200 pa for first degrees (in 2005). No international students at present.
