Housing: Priority to first years for on-site accommodation: 3 residential self-catering blocks (single rooms with basins, kitchen and 2 baths for every 12 students). Self-catering accommodation at Foxhole (10 minute walk).

Eats: Subsidised refectory on campus (only open at lunchtime), good but varied food; always a vegetarian option, salad and baguette bar and takeout service. In town, chinese, fish and chips, pizza, kebabs. Good value local pubs.

Drink: Student club (The Rat & Emu) sells alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; pub also on campus (very expensive). Totnes pubs well-used by students.

Nightlife: Visiting theatre companies, dance, concerts of all kinds, on-site gallery. SU organises bands, club nights, theme nights, balls, lots of home-grown talent. Cinema on campus.

Sports: Squash courts, table tennis, yoga, gym; pool, gym and skate park in Totnes; great cycling and walking.

Travel: Travel scholarships available; chance to go abroad as part of degree. Limited local buses; hitching (generally safe but be careful) or taxis preferred.

Financial help: Financial Office always helpful.

Jobs: Available if you have transport; local employment agency, regular student employers.

Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £3500-£4000.
