Housing: 2 student residences: Henry Scott Tuke House in the centre of Falmouth; Glasney Parc at Tremough. Number of self-catering bedsits, shared houses and sell-contained properties (flats, houses, small annexes, etc), £60-£75 per week plus bills. Look for properties whose landlords are part of voluntary accreditation scheme with local Council.

Locals: Very friendly.

Sports: Everything from sailing, surfing, horse riding, rugby, football, hockey, basketball and many more.

Jobs: Mainly available during the tourist season (bar, hotel, and shop work). Informal name: FCA.

Best features: People and scenery.

And worst: Occasional wet weather!
