Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) - In Depth
Founded: 2004.
Structural features: New partnership with a central Hub on a new campus near Falmouth and a Rim of further education colleges across the county. The partners involved are:
- Exeter University (UEC-University of Exeter in Cornwall; including Camborne School of Mines)
- Falmouth College of Arts
- Marjon (College of St Mark & St John)
- Open University Peninsular Medical School
- Plymouth University Cornwall College
- Truro College
- Penwith College.
Site: A new purpose-built campus at Tremough, near Falmouth, forms the Hub of CUC and is the base for part of Falmouth College of Arts and Camborne School of Mines (you can look both these up separately); also the Institute of Cornish Studies and Cornwall-based lifelong learning programmes. The Rim of further education colleges are in Redruth, Rosewarne, Stoke Climsland, Falmouth, Saltash, St Austell. Newquay, Truro and Penzance; and the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
