Cambridge Trinity - Student Life

Housing: College rooms for all (subsidised, so cheap).

Eats: Palatable, filling fare served up in hall - breakfast, lunch and dinner (£2.50 for three courses, plus £110 kitchen fixed charge per term). Vegetarian option always available. Good selection of local restaurants and sandwich bars, variety of prices.

Drink: Student bar with cheap drinks (£1.60 for a pint, £1 for a shot).

Nightlife: Ents in colleges plus four main clubs in town catering for a variety of tastes but mainly dominated by student staple - cheese. Lots of pubs and bars, with different atmospheres - something for everyone.

Locals: Very friendly (trouble is so rare it's reported in the university newspapers).

Sports: Excellent, at both college and university levels.

Travel: Myriad of travel grants and bursaries for both study and fun.

Financial help: Plenty of money for anyone with a justifiable claim.

Jobs: Term-time jobs not allowed (but some people manage it).

Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £3600.

Best features: Excellent academic facilities, enormous variety of people, financial benefits.

Worst features: Hard work squashed into short terms, people feeling that they should live up to the Trinity stereotypes.
