Cambridge Trinity Hall - Student View

Small, beautiful college in pleasant setting on the river. Very central, yet off the beaten track. Friendly atmosphere; relations between staff and students relaxed (very helpful porters). Amenities include a modern JCR complex of common room, computer facilities, versatile lecture theatre, music room - all adjoining the small, popular and inexpensive bar.

Accommodation varies: all 1st years and some 3rd years live in college, everyone else on two college-owned sites close by (although some 4th years have to find own accommodation). Variable self-catering facilities are available on every site. College food is tolerable! Cafeteria service each mealtime, as well as the occasional formal halls and super halls (usually good value).

Most sports catered for; playing fields, new gym, boat club, tennis and squash courts are 10 mins from college. Rugby, football and rowing are major sports for both sexes but many other sports also regularly put out teams. Several active societies (and choir tours overseas). Active JCR co-ordinates many of the college activities and provides internal services, as well as representing students on the governing body and university SU (CUSU).

College actively seeks a wide range of applicants. Male/female ratio currently 50:50; relaxed attitude to co-residence. Academically improving standard; strong subjects SPS, law, languages, though all main subjects catered for. Changing course in first year is possible - go through your tutor and director of studies. Size and good internal facilities make the college self-contained.
