Cambridge Queens' - Student Life
Housing: All undergraduates housed, rents in line with other colleges.
Eats: Meals in college from £1.20-£1.70, 3 meals a day and popular Sunday brunch. Formal hall (waiter service 3-course meal) cheap at £4.30 and great fun - bring your own bottle. Lots of places in town: Dojo's noodle house is a Queens' favourite, 1 minute away; India House for curry; Gardenia's for late night munchies.
Drink: Lively bar, cheap compared to town pubs; pints from £1.70 (and has pool table, Sky etc).
Nightlife: 2 bops a week in college (renowned throughout Cambridge); mainly cheese but building a reputation for indie, r&b, hip-hop and drum and bass. In town, student nights at one of the 4 nightclubs 4 nights a week, plus the Corn Exchange and The Junction gig venues. Sports: University gym and city swimming pool 15 minutes' walk away.
Travel: Limited grants and travel scholarships; more uni wide.
Financial help: College is very helpful (tutors can usually sort it for you).
Jobs: Not allowed in term time except in college bar and cafe and some work in offices. Plenty in summer - bar work, punting, guide work and May Balls.
Best features: Friendly; loads to do.
Worst features: Hard to get away in exam term.
