Founded: 1496; women undergraduates first admitted 1979.
Admission: By conditional offer (STEP for maths only). Post A-level candidates admitted on basis of A-levels, school reports and interviews.
Scholarships: Foundation scholarships and exhibitions on performance in university examinations.
Travel grants: Available in Lent term.
Library & information service: Quincentenary library, 30,000+ volumes. 30+ machines for student use in college computer centre, open 24 hours/day. All machines, and every student room, has internet access. 5 full-time computing officers plus part-time assistants.
Eating arrangements: Self-service with alternative formal Hall dinner. Each undergraduate pays kitchen fixed charge (£105+) plus cost of meals taken.
Gate/guest hours: Free access until 2 am. Overnight guests have to be signed in.
Other college facilities: Bar, common room, shop, party room, stereo-reproduction room, multi-gym, snooker room, launderette, sports fields within the college grounds, boat house nearby.
Accommodation: All students in college accommodation: up to £400-£1000 per term. No first degree students live at home.
Term-time work: College does not allow term-time work. Financial help: Named funds plus college loans.
