Housing: All undergraduates in college accommodation: rents around £50-£80 a week (includes cleaning your room and getting your washing done). Living out is difficult and expensive.
Eats: All meals can be eaten in Hall. Always a vegetarian option, sandwiches, salad bar etc; 2-course meal around £3.50. Formal Hall every night except Wednesday: 3-course meal, coffee, chocolates, gowns and candles (you bring your own wine) for the princely sum of £4.80!
Drinks: College Bar (lager £1.20, alcopops £1.40, vodka £1 a shot.
Nightlife: Weekly ents in college bar; bops at other colleges. 5 clubs in town playing music ranging from R'n'B to jazz to D'n'B and always with a good helping of cheese!
Sports: College sports teams good standard; open to anyone of any standard. The more serious can try for university teams. College sportsground in west Cambridge. Paddock turned into grass tennis courts in Easter term; squash courts in College and outdoor swimming pool (for use when the weather gets warmer).
Jobs: A little money can be earned working in the library or in college bar (but generally part time work is not allowed because of the short terms).
Financial help: Isaac Newton Bursaries available to any student experiencing financial difficulty. Music and choral awards available. Students get money off their bill for doing well in the end-of-year exams. Grants are available for holiday research and travel.
