Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College - Student Life
Housing: Off-campus expensive; some reasonable, others dire. College accommodation helpful.
Eats: Cheap food at student bars (early morning till late at night); college refectories expensive (meal on campus £2-ish). Lots of places to eat close by (Litton Tree, Falcon pub reasonable); variety near Chalfont if you have transport.
Drink: Student bars cheap (pint £1.60-£1.90); pubs not (but some offer students' drinks promotions). Falcon good and reasonable.
Nightlife: The Venue is the place to be in High Wycombe in the evenings; range of ents at Chalfont to suit all tastes. Nothing exciting off campus.
Locals: Very friendly.
Sports: Well-equipped gyms on all three sites. Local sports centres with good offers for students
Travel: London only 25 mins by road: direct rail link to London (Marylebone).
Financial help: College has emergency loan fund.
Jobs: Many bar jobs on campus (only students employed). Jobs also available through local agencies.
Best features: SU bar.
And worst: Stuck in a valley; you need to go up hill to get out of Wycombe!
