Bath Spa University College - Student View

It's divided between two sites: Sion Hill, 10 minutes' walk from town; and Newton Park, 4 miles towards Bristol. Regular bus service from Bath to the college. Halls for first years (all self-catering) are split into courts at Newton Park, and houses in a Georgian crescent at Sion Hill.

Each site has a canteen open for lunch, coffee and snacks in the morning and afternoon. Subsidised bars on each site. SU very active, holding events each week and liaising with university. Sports hall and gym at Newton Park, and college teams play weekly matches. Strong student presence in Bath, with students from university and college of further education all sharing same pubs and clubs. Lots of very individual pubs.

Because of old Bath by-law, many clubs are underground eg Moles and Fezz Club (where you have to be a member); all decent clubs have concession nights for BSUC students. Several markets throughout the week eg Great Western antique market, an indoor market and a large Saturday market on Walcot Street. The college is on the bus route to Bristol, so you have the amenities of both a large town and a city.
